My first visit and my first internship in Dubai
An experience to remember by an American college student
My name is Layla Yehyawi. I am 19 years old and in university. I will start my second year or sophomore year in September.
I am studying International Studies and Spanish. I go to college or university in Fairfield, Connecticut which is an hour away from the city of New York. I came to Dubai for a month to do an internship at Al Bayader International. I got here May 16th and I will leave this Sunday the 17th. For my internship at Al Bayader, I was able to have the full work experience in many departments like Procurement, Human Resources, and Sales. I was also able to visit the many locations of the factories and offices as well as the supermarkets where the company has its products. All this was very helpful to me to see the real way of the business world and how it works. At the end, I was also given the great opportunity of a 2 day internship at 7awi where I was able to make this mini project of pictures and memories of my one month trip here in Dubai.

In conclusion, I would strongly recommend for anyone to come visit Dubai for vacation. It is a very open and international city. There is a lot of tourism around here and very nice things to see. I came during the month of Ramadan, from mid May to mid June which has both positive and negative outlooks. The positive things in this time of year in Dubai is that the hours for work and school are shortened a couple of hours which gives you time to do many things in the afternoon. Also, you get to experience another culture or way of life you may have never seen before. For the negative things, all restaurants and eating locations are closed for many hours. Also, in terms of eating and drinking, you have to be careful when you are outside because it is not allowed to be seen drinking or eating. Throughout the whole year, since it is very hot, it is also hard to have the complication of not drinking and eating. In general though, it is a wonderful experience to get to live here for some time. Dubai has a very nice lifestyle.
