Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus has been named as the chief adviser to Bangladesh's interim government. The announcement was made early Tuesday morning by the coordinators of Students Against Discrimination, Mo. Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud, and Abu Bakr Mazumdar.

Key Details of the Announcement

The student coordinators revealed that they had taken 24 hours to propose the interim government due to the urgent situation. The statement highlighted that Dr. Yunus was chosen for his broad acceptance and expertise. "We have already discussed with Dr. Yunus, and he has agreed to take on this crucial role to help steer Bangladesh through this challenging period," the statement said.

Call for Presidential Action

The students have called on Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin to officially announce the formation of the interim government. They are urging the President to act swiftly and form the government with Dr. Yunus at its helm. The names of other members of the interim government are expected to be announced later today.

This development comes as a response to the ongoing political crisis in the country, with hopes that Dr. Yunus's leadership will guide Bangladesh towards stability.
