Mourning Period for Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Declared

Following the death of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed, the Ruler's Representative in Abu Dhabi, UAE's President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced three days of mourning.
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful … With hearts faithful to God's decree and destiny, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourns his late brother, HH Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who passed away today,” the Presidential Court said on Thursday morning.
President Sheikh Mohamed led the funeral prayers on Thursday after noon prayers.
Prayers were performed at Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed the First Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohamed and the sheikhs of the Al Nahyan family followed the funeral prayer to Al Bateen Cemetery, where Sheikh Saeed was laid to rest.
“With the passing of my brother Saeed bin Zayed, the UAE has lost a loyal son who was dedicated to his country and its people,” Sheikh Mohamed wrote on Twitter.
“We pray that God grants him eternal rest, and that we are blessed with patience and solace at this time.”
Condolences will be received at Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Thursday.
Also, Condolences will be received on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to noon and from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Earlier on Thursday, the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, mourned his brother, the Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan who passed away as a result of health issues.
