A minor earthquake measuring 1.2 on the Richter scale struck the Al Raheeb area in Dibba, Fujairah, late Sunday night. The tremor, reported by the National Seismic Network stations of the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), occurred at 10:27 PM.

Minor Tremors Felt by Residents

According to the NCM, the earthquake was slightly felt by residents in the area but did not cause any damage or disruptions. The authorities have assured the public that the tremor posed no threat to the region.

Recent Seismic Activity in the Area

This is not the first seismic event to be recorded in the area recently. On September 1, a 2.3 magnitude earthquake hit the Masafi area in Fujairah. Just a few weeks earlier, on August 18, a 3.0 magnitude quake was recorded near the coast of Dibba.

No Cause for Alarm

The NCM continues to monitor seismic activity in the region closely and has reassured residents that such minor quakes are not unusual for the area. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official channels for any updates or advisories.
