Initially set for July 20, the fight was postponed due to Tyson's health issues. Promoters confirmed that the bout will still take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Paul announced the new date on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating, "New date, same place, same fate."
Tyson, who turns 58 on June 30, experienced an "ulcer flare up" during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, resulting in nausea and dizziness. Following medical advice to reduce training, the fight had to be postponed.
"Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly," Tyson said. "I'm thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out."
The fight will be broadcasted on Netflix, marking the streaming service's first major foray into live sports events.
The rescheduled bout, set for a Friday, allows AT&T Stadium to reconfigure ahead of the Dallas Cowboys' game against the Houston Texans on Monday, November 18.
Paul, 27, will face Tyson in an eight-round professional fight sanctioned by Texas boxing officials. Tyson's last professional fight was in 2005.
Despite concerns from fellow fighters like former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder about Tyson's safety, the boxing legend is confident in his return. Tyson, who dominated the heavyweight division in the 1980s and 1990s and was known as the "baddest man on the planet," called the decision to fight Paul a "no-brainer."
