Dubai is set to make history with the construction of its first professional baseball stadium, located within The Sevens sports and entertainment complex on Al-Ain Road. The 6,500-capacity ballpark will be the only professional baseball facility across a vast region stretching from Morocco to India, including parts of Southwest Asia.

Key Features of the Stadium

The stadium, temporarily named Baseball United Ballpark while naming rights are finalized, will boast cutting-edge features designed to withstand Dubai’s intense heat. The field will have a dual fiber synthetic surface, ensuring durability and playability in extreme weather conditions.

Lighting is another major highlight, with the installation of an advanced LED system that will produce over 15 million lumens, distributed across eight lighting towers and 94 fixtures. This will enhance visibility during games, creating an optimal viewing experience for fans.

The stadium's modular seating arrangement will accommodate up to 6,500 spectators, offering flexibility for different event sizes. Inspired by New York's Yankee Stadium, the ballpark’s dimensions will feature fences measuring 318 feet to left field, 314 feet to right field, and 408 feet to center field. The design will also blend old and new, featuring a traditional scoreboard alongside a modern LED content wall.

A Home for Baseball in the Region

Kash Shaikh, the chairman, CEO, and co-founder of Baseball United, emphasized the importance of the new stadium in promoting baseball across the Middle East and South Asia. "Our league has brought together a passionate fanbase, legendary co-owners, world-class players, and historic franchises. What was missing was a dedicated venue—a place to call home," Shaikh stated.

The stadium is not only set to host local games but will also be a venue for international events. This November, an international baseball tournament featuring teams from the UAE, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Nepal will take place in Dubai. Following this, a cup competition with former Major League Baseball stars paired with local talent is scheduled for February, leading up to a full league season.

Barry Larkin Field

The playing field will honor baseball legend Barry Larkin, a Hall-of-Famer and co-founder of Baseball United, reflecting the stadium’s dedication to the sport’s rich history.

While the exact completion date for the stadium remains uncertain, the project marks a significant step in making baseball a prominent sport in the region.
