Man Arrested in Abu Dhabi for Smuggling 48 Tonnes of Drugs


An Asian man was arrested by Abu Dhabi Police for having 48 tonnes of drugs and psychotropic substances. The Public Prosecution of the United Arab Emirates declared that an inquiry into the case has begun.
The Asian individual set up a warehouse to keep the drugs he intended to sell, according to the Public Prosecution.
The Anti-Narcotics Department of the Abu Dhabi Police conducted a thorough surveillance operation before tracking down the suspect. 48 tonnes and 693 kg of cargo were seized.
The Prosecution has urged the public to report any suspicious drug-related activity as the UAE authorities continue to crack down on drug trafficking.
