LinkedIn's newest research shows that professionals in Saudi Arabia and the UAE prefer working in the Gulf region rather than relocating to Europe or the US. 

Details about the research were revealed on Wednesday, Jan. 16 in a press release. 

The research was conducted by the market research consultancy Censuswide from Nov. 24 to Dec. 15, 2023. 

The researchers surveyed 16,288 white-collar professionals in full-time or part-time employment across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK, France, Germany, India, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, the US, and other countries. 

The results from the research show that 82 percent of surveyed professionals shared that they prefer working in the GCC. 

These professionals reasoned that the high standards of living, attractive lifestyle, and opportunities for professional growth were the factors behind their preference. 

The survey results also showed that 73 percent of the professionals in Saudi Arabia and the UAE are looking for a new house because of the rising rents. 

The Head of LinkedIn MENA Ali Matar advised professionals in Saudi Arabia and the UAE to work towards standing out from others in 2024. 

Research Results About Professionals in Saudi Arabia

The research revealed that 79 percent of professionals in Saudi Arabia are confident about being interviewed for a new job, while 78 percent of professionals are confident about searching for a new job. 

LinkedIn's research also showed that 61 percent of women from professionals in Saudi Arabia are seeking career moves.

They reasoned that they wanted better pay and a better work-life balance. 

Research Results About Professionals in the UAE

According to the research, 83 percent of professionals highlight their skills instead of degrees when looking for a new job.

Furthermore, 76 percent of professionals are focused on upskilling and 72 percent of these professionals spend more time on online courses for progression in their careers.

These results show professionals in Saudi Arabia and the UAE are seeking career advancement within the GCC only.
