LG Electronics and Dunia Helwa Help Alzheimer's Patients

On August 27, LG and Dunia Helwa, part of 7awi Media Group, united to launch the first of four impactful CSR campaigns dedicated to enhancing the lives of elderly individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease. The event, held at The Garden Concept on Sheikh Zayed Road, provided participants with a day filled with creativity, connection, and care.
“To be very honest, we are honored to be part of this kind of event thanks to 4-get-me-not and to Dunia Helwa. It is our duty to contribute to something that benefits society, and this is our way to show our love to customers,” said Sa Nyoung Kim, President at LG Electronics Gulf. “Maybe you know that LG Electronic’s logo is ‘Life is Good’; sometimes we forget that. Events like this remind us that every moment is important, and that life is truly good. We try to spread this optimism worldwide as we reflect on the value of our lives”, he continued.

In collaboration with the 4-get-me-not organization, the event brought together volunteers and seniors in a vibrant social setting. Led by a professional art therapist, seniors participated in therapeutic art sessions, painting 17cm clay pots with non-toxic Tjhoko paints. Art therapist Sheetal Durve commented, “Art therapy helps Alzheimer’s patients remain active, keeps their minds alert, and reduces daily stress.”
Participants also planted Kalanchoe outdoor plants, fostering a sense of accomplishment and joy. The event welcomed ten seniors aged 60 and above, including those living with Alzheimer’s disease who required mobility aids such as wheelchairs and canes. Attendees enjoyed a variety of refreshments, including coffee, tea, grilled cheese sandwiches, samosas, and gluten-free mini cupcakes.
Amr Elbakry, PR Manager at LG, shared his thoughts on the day: “Spending time with everyone reminded me of the importance of making every moment count and nurturing connections. Our model of creating these moments leaves lasting memories, even if they are brief.”
