UAE To Experience The Hottest Summer

Dubai, UAE; 19th November 2024: Lanuuk, a trailblazer in luxury modest swimwear, has announced its latest milestone: a  collaboration with Bloomingdale’s UAE and Kuwait. This partnership marks the first time Bloomingdale’s will offer modest swimwear in-store, providing UAE shoppers with an up-close experience of Lanuuk’s signature blend of style, comfort, and functionality.  Selected pieces will also be available to shop online on Bloomingdale’s Kuwait.

Ayesha Mahomed, co-founder Lanuuk, said: “When I shopped for swimwear, it was challenging to find styles that offer coverage without compromising on design. For us, Lanuuk is about more than full coverage; it’s about creating an alternative for women who don’t feel represented in conventional offerings. Our collections are designed by us, for us, with every detail crafted to balance style, quality, modesty, and practicality. We believe beauty is diverse and ageless, and we want every woman to feel positive and confident in herself.”

Katleya Nielsen, co-founder Lanuuk, added: “Swimwear has evolved beyond traditional styles. Today, options abound for those seeking both function and fashion. This shift reflects women’s desire for comfort—whether through performance suits, chic full-coverage, or stylish modest pieces. The changing landscape embraces personal comfort and unique styles, moving beyond one-size-fits-all. We are thrilled to partner with Bloomingdale’s UAE to make Lanuuk accessible to even more customers in the region.”

Bloomingdale’s UAE will showcase a selection of Lanuuk’s thoughtfully curated collection, featuring high-quality, quick-drying, and lightweight fabrics that seamlessly transition from beach to brunch.

Founded in 2018, Lanuuk offers swimwear with Maxi, Midi, and Mini coverage options that cater to all women. Designed with sustainability in mind, the collection offers UPF50+ sun protection and includes anti-chlorine and anti-crease properties, extending the garment’s longevity and keeping wearers comfortable. Each piece is crafted in partnership with a family-run manufacturing team in the Philippines, reinforcing Lanuuk’s commitment to ethical production practices.

As the first modest swimwear brand available at Bloomingdale’s , Lanuuk’s entry reflects a growing demand for inclusivity and diversity in fashion.

For decades, swimwear has focused on form-fitting styles, often limited to standard silhouettes. Recently, designers have embraced the demand for variety beyond aesthetics. Today’s industry caters to women seeking sun protection and personal expression. New collections combine practicality, sophistication, and elegance, reflecting women's nuanced choices, with comfort and functionality as critical factors.

Full-coverage options, for instance, now shedding old-fashioned labels, show how inclusivity can open doors to elegant and innovative design. Once limited to sporty or utilitarian styles, these options now include contemporary, high-quality fabrics and silhouettes that enhance rather than restrict. Swimwear brands are tapping into the demand for pieces that provide comfort and confidence without compromising sophistication.

The growing modest swimwear market not only embodies these diverse perspectives but also questions the idea of modesty as a strict, narrow definition. Today’s modest designs address a variety of needs—from women who worry about sun exposure to those wanting alternatives to traditional styles, as well as individuals looking to diversify their swimwear options.

Functionality has also become paramount, and today’s inclusive swimwear brands are responding with collections that address various needs. Sun-protective fabrics, long sleeves, and high necklines shield against the elements, while flowing silhouettes add style to coverage. Innovations like mix-and-match separate and varied coverage levels ensure that women can build a wardrobe that matches their comfort level—whether lounging poolside or taking on water sports.

This shift also reflects a growing awareness of environmental responsibility. Swimwear brands are increasingly conscious of material sourcing and production processes, gravitating toward sustainable fabrics and durable designs that stand the test of time. For many women, purchasing swimwear that aligns with their values is as important as finding the right fit.

Today’s swimwear collections are making waves by accommodating every woman’s unique needs and preferences. Designs range from athletic cuts for active lifestyles to luxe, fashion-forward options that celebrate full coverage without sacrificing elegance. This trend is about inclusivity and recognizing the beauty in variety.
