Dubai-based billionaire and founder of the Landmark Group Mukesh 'Micky' Jagtiani passed away on Friday, May 26th, at the age of 70. 

The news was shared in a statement by the Landmark Group. The statement said that Jagtiani "passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family."

The statement also said, "He will always be known for his inspiring leadership and even more so, for his humility and genuine concern towards all the lives he touched." 

Jagtiani launched Landmark Group in 1973 in Bahrain and later on, expanded the company into one of the largest retail and hospitality conglomerates in the Middle East, Africa, and India. The group operates more than 2,200 outlets across 21 countries. 

In 2023, Jagtiani ranked 511th on Forbes’ 37th annual World’s Billionaires List, with a net worth of $5.2 billion.

Jagtiani is survived by his wife Renuka; his children Aarti and Savitar, Nisha and Kabir, and Rahul; his grandchildren Samar, Nikhil, Yohan and Aliya. 

A public condolences gathering is scheduled to take play on Monday, May 29th.
