IPL 2025: LSG Defeat KKR by Four Runs

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Eden Gardens on Tuesday, Apr. 8.
The Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bowl. LSG's Aiden Markram secured 47 runs, Mitchell Marsh secured 81 runs, and Nicholas Pooran secured 87 runs, delivering a thrilling performance and pushing their team's score to a total of 238 runs.
Markram and Marsh were the team's openers, securing almost 100 runs in 10 overs, which was cut short when Harshit Rana removed Markram. However, that one wicket would cost KKR dearly because it led to Pooran coming in.

When it was KKR's turn to bat, Ajinkya Rahane secured 61 runs, Venkatesh Iyer secured 45 runs, and Rinku Singh scored 38 runs, contributing to the team's total score of 234 runs.
Iyer and Rahane's partnership pushed KKR's score to 137 runs until the 11th over, but LSG soon turned the game around by taking four wickets in four overs, leaving the Knight Riders at 185 runs and six wickets by the 16th over.
It was after the final time-out that LSG's Shardul Thakur removed Andre Russell, which led Rinku Singh to come in and put in his best efforts to chase the score; however, he fell short, leading LSG to win the match by four runs.
Nicholas Pooran was named the Man of the Match for his excellent performance as a batsman.
