India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi on Feb. 14, 2024.
PM Modi is scheduled to attend the public evening dedication ceremony on Feb. 14, 2024
The evening ceremony will take place after the special morning prayers when seven Hindu deities will be consecrated.
India's PM Modi launched the temple project in 2018 and sculpting work of the temple began in 2020.
When Will the Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi Open to the Public?
The temple will open to the public on Feb. 18, 2024.
Location of the Abu Dhabi Hindu Temple?
The temple is located in Abu Mureikha in Abu Dhabi, off the main motorway between the capital and Dubai.
Architecture of the Hindu Temple
Abu Dhabi's Hindu temple is UAE's first hand-carved Hindu temple.
The temple features sculptures in pink sandstone and white marble as it is being constructed.
The temple also features seven shikhars or spires that represent the seven emirates of the UAE.
The seven spires will host deities from all parts of India.
In addition to the spires, the interior of the temple will also have two streams of water that will represent the rivers Ganga and Yamuna in India.
A beam of light will also be installed in the temple's structure which will symbolize the Saraswati river.
The temple will be able to host 8,000 to 10,000 visitors and will be open to people of all faiths.
