India Wins Against New Zealand by Four Wickets at Cricket World Cup

India secured a World Cup final spot with a 70-run victory over New Zealand in the Mumbai semifinal.

Shami's impressive 7-wicket haul limited New Zealand to 327 runs, despite Daryl Mitchell's 134. In a stellar performance, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer led India to a formidable 397 runs.

Kohli's century has marked history, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar with his 50th ODI century. India sets a challenging target of 398 runs for New Zealand in the World Cup 2023 semifinals.

In action, bowler Shami (7-57) claimed the first four wickets for the Black Caps, including two in three deliveries when New Zealand was leading 220-2. The Black Caps were bowled out for 327. At 119 balls, Daryl Mitchell scored 134 runs.

In his six World Cup games, Shami has claimed three five-wicket scores, setting a record for the most at the event.

Australia was the sole team to successfully chase a target at the venue, courtesy of Glenn Maxwell's unbeaten double century. India has displayed dominance, winning all nine round-robin matches, including a four-wicket triumph over New Zealand in Dharamsala.

Notably, New Zealand had previously defeated India in the 2019 edition at the same stage. The second semi-final between Australia and South Africa will take place at Kolkata's Eden Gardens, leading to the final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
