Citizens, residents, and visitors from the World Cup fans are waiting for the launch of the activities that will be witnessed in the Doha Corniche area, which will turn into a huge theater for artistic performances and events in the world during the World Cup.

Vehicles were diverted away from the Corniche to provide a safe and secure environment for pedestrians in the area, the pier, and other streets on the Corniche Road, and traffic was also diverted from the intersections of Ras Bu Aboud, Sheraton, Mina, Al Seif, Al Diwan, Al Marmar, Al Maha and Barzan, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).

How do you get to the Corniche?

The official account for the latest information and developments related to transportation during the World Cup "@Roadto2022Go", via Twitter, clarified the various options to facilitate access to the Corniche area.

In its tweet, the official website confirmed that vehicle roads have been diverted away from Corniche Road from the beginning of this November until December 19, so that Corniche Street will be allocated from Ras Bu Aboud Intersection to the Sheraton Intersection exclusively for pedestrians, and in return, the Corniche Street will be allocated from Sheraton Intersection to Ras Bu Aboud Intersection for public transport, calling on the public to abide by the places designated and exclusive for them for their safety.

And it indicated, via an explanatory video, that given that the following stops: Souq Waqif, Al-Shuyoukh Mosque, Al-Bidaa opposite Al-Rayyan Street, Al-Bidda opposite Al-Istiklal Street, postal parking lots, all parking spaces inside the Corniche, are no longer available, there will be several options to facilitate access to the Corniche area.

As there are 37 metro stations scattered throughout the country, 5 of them provide a parking and transportation service, which are: Qatar University, Al Qassar, Al Messila, Umm Ghuwailina, and Al Wakra stations, which accommodate more than 19,000 parking spots and through which you can reach the Corniche by heading to one of the following stations: Al Bidda, Corniche, West Bay and Fairgroَunds.

The entertainment events program includes more than 90 special events scheduled to be organized on the sidelines of the tournament.

The program for the Corniche area includes art performances, cultural activities, food and beverage kiosks, and shops, with more than 120,000 people expected to visit the area during the peak period of its entertainment program.

In addition to a group of entertainment events, such as the FIFA Fan Festival, which will officially open on November 20, and is expected to receive about 40,000 visitors, in addition to fan zones in Al Khor City, the Industrial Area, and other places that will be announced at a later time.

In addition to the 974 Beach Club, which is located near the 974 Stadium, will offer musical performances and a variety of activities, and outlets to sell products, targeting up to 10 thousand visitors.

Also, Lusail Trail, located not far from Lusail Stadium, which will host the final of the tournament, will host outstanding street art performances for an audience of 50,000 people daily.
