A group of UAE residents have figured out how to get an appointment for a US visa quickly.

Residents in the country have had to wait for a year for US visa appointments because of a large number of applications.
This delay led Indian expat Anshil Ponthuveetil Thekkumpurath to travel to Saudi Arabia and apply for a US visa appointment there. He went to the US Consulate General Al Khobar in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He completed the whole process and received the US visa in seven days only.
To get a US visa faster, consulate and tourism officials in the UAE are suggesting that expats travel to other GCC countries and visit the consulates there.
In Oman, it only takes three months to get a US visa. In Bahrain, it takes two to three weeks and in Saudi Arabia, it takes around the same time.
