Residents can now savor boiled corn on the cob or a steaming cup of karak tea while gazing at the magnificent, unspoiled Hajar mountains. Shees Rest Area, nestled in the mountains' shadow, was unveiled just in time for the UAE's winter season.

Situated just a kilometer away from Shees Park, renowned for its artificial waterfall, this newly inaugurated rest area received its grand opening over the weekend, courtesy of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The rest area boasts an array of 58 shops offering an assortment of goods, including fresh fruits, domestic plants, carpets, perfumes, camping equipment, as well as various dining establishments and cafes.
For those in need of a hot beverage, a cup of karak tea is easily affordable, priced at Dh1. Additionally, there's a shop dedicated to providing camping gear.
The plant shops are known for their popular Dh1 potted flowers, with customers leaving with boxes full of vibrant greens.
Customers can find UAE-grown fruits and vegetables available at wholesale prices, offering an assortment of mangoes, oranges, papayas, guavas, apples, and watermelons, all bundled together for a mere Dh90. There are also packets of freshly sliced fruits, conveniently portioned and priced at Dh10, as well as corn on the cob for Dh5.
An outdoor theater spanning 430 square meters is adorned with lush greenery, while a 24-square-meter projector screen is set up for film screenings.
