Dubai Police issued a stern warning, stating that motorists permitting passengers to hang out of vehicle windows or stand through sunroofs face substantial penalties.

Such violations could lead to a 60-day vehicle impoundment, a 2000 AED fine, and 23 traffic points. Additionally, Decree No. 30 of 2023 mandates a release fee of up to 50,000 AED for impounded vehicles.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, emphasized the dangers associated with such behaviors, deeming them improper conduct that jeopardizes safety. Last year's statistics revealed five injuries from individuals falling from moving vehicles, 1183 related violations, and the impoundment of 707 vehicles driven recklessly.
Al Mazrouei stressed the preventability of many traffic accidents through adherence to laws and regulations, citing non-compliance as a significant factor. He underscored the shared responsibility between the police and the community in reducing accidents, urging citizens to report violations through the 'Police Eye' service on the Dubai Police smart app or by contacting (901).
Abu Dhabi Police echoed a similar warning to motorists, aligning with the collective effort to enhance road safety.
