Abbasi is also well-known for his roles in hit TV series like ‘Pyaray Afzal’, ‘Mann Mayal’, ‘Alif’, and ‘Jaan-e-Jahaan’.
He was at the event to talk about his debut book titled ‘My Discovery of God, Islam, and Judgement Day’, which was released this year. The book features his spiritual journey to Islam from atheism.
He talked about his understanding of Islam, “Every Muslim should understand that their looks, their talent, and every attribute of theirs is from God. Therefore, being arrogant about these attributes is foolish.”

When asked how he had changed after discovering Islam, Abbasi said “Practising Islam is that realization that whatever I do, I have to answer God about what I have done in my life. If religion does not have that influence in your life, any ritual you practice is rendered meaningless.”
He added, “In my personal life, practising Islam brought about some changes. I was a very confrontational, temperamental, and judgemental person, but because of Islam, I was able to bring a change within myself.”
Later on, the Pakistani actor was joined by his wife Naimal Khawar-Abbasi on stage. She is an artist who has had her paintings featured in various exhibitions. She is also an actress who has featured in the film ‘Verna’ and the hit TV series ‘Ana’.
