For the forthcoming holiday, public parking will be free, according to the Sharjah Municipality. Residents in Sharjah will not be charged for parking on September 28th, 2023, in honor of the Prophet Muhammad's (Peace be upon him) birthday, the authorities announced on Wednesday.

Employees in the public sector will be getting a paid holiday on Thursday, September 28th. Government workers in Sharjah get a four-day weekend since they get a three-day weekend off (from Friday to Sunday). Work will resume for employees on Monday, October 2nd.
Only Thursday and Friday will have free parking; there will be charges for the other two holiday days.
The 7-day paid parking areas, which can be found in the areas with the blue parking information signs, will still require payment on holidays and weekends.
Employees of the federal government and the private sector in the rest of the UAE will have the day off on Friday, September 29th. Due to the National Day holidays falling on December 2nd and 3rd — Saturday and Sunday — this would be the last extended weekend in the UAE.
