Earlier in July, a fire caused by an explosion on a ship at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port was brought under control.
The port is the Middle East's largest transshipment hub. DMO Director-General Mona Al Marri told Al Arabiya television channel that fire originated from a container holding flammable material. However, Dubai Police told the channel that it might be caused by “friction or high temperatures” during hot summer months.
