During the first half of this year, charitable organizations and donations provided more than AED 4.4 million in aid to inmates of the Dubai Prison.

The money has assisted in paying off numerous convicts' debts and repatriating those who have completed their sentences.

Along with helping the families of the prisoners, the donations also helped pay for their medical care.

Forty prisoners involved in financial matters were released owing to nearly half of the financial aid received in the first half of this year, according to Brigadier Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments.

Brigadier Julfar praised the donors' generosity and emphasized the importance of their donations in improving the lives of the prisoners and their families.
