FIFA Rankings for National Teams After the World Cup Qatar 2022
On Thursday, December 22, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) revealed the world ranking of the national teams, after the end of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, which was won by the Argentine national team, despite winning the world title didn't top the list.
Brazil still leads the world rankings for this year despite being knocked out in the quarterfinals by Croatia. The Seleção narrowly leads the Argentines, who could have pounced on the lead if they beat France in the final without resorting to penalty kicks.
As for the Moroccan national team, it achieved the best rank in its history ever (11th), benefiting from its impressive results in the Qatar World Cup 2022.
Where the Moroccan team rose 11 places, achieving 148 points during the past 12 months.
As for the French team, the world runner-up, it came in third place, while Belgium falls to fourth place after its elimination from the group stage in the 2022 World Cup.
As for the fourth qualifier to the semi-finals, Croatia benefited from its brilliance in the World Cup and rose 5 places and came in seventh place.
As for the other two teams that benefited from the World Cup finals, they are Australia, which ranked 27th, advanced 11 places, and Cameroon, which ranked 33rd, advanced 10 places.
Australia benefited from qualifying for the round of 16, while Cameroon's victory over Brazil helped advance them in the standings
By defeating Argentina in the group stage, Saudi Arabia joined the world's fifty-best teams, ranking 49th.
