The organizers announced on Tuesday that Expo City in Dubai will hold the official UAE National Day ceremony on December 2nd. This yearly celebration, also known as UAE Union Day, honors the unity of the Emirates in 1971.
Expo City, the current venue for the COP28 climate change conference from November 30th to December 12th, will utilize the occasion to depict the country's sustainability journey during the ceremony. The December 2nd event will be in line with the UAE's 2023 theme of the Year of Sustainability.
Accessible to Emiratis and expatriates, the public ceremony at Expo City will run from December 5th to 12th, with ticket details to be disclosed soon.
Starting with Emirati culture and heritage, the ceremony will illustrate the legacy of ancestors and the interplay between tradition and technology. Featuring performances and storytelling, it will shed light on the UAE's vision for a sustainable future, emphasizing climate adaptation, innovation, and collective action. The live broadcast on December 2nd will be available on local TV channels and the official website.
