An image of an Emirati grandmother, wearing an Emirati traditional outfit and face covering, while holding a sign in Arabic that said: “We’ve reached Mars." went viral on social media.
The picture of Khusaibah Al Dahmani, 70, was taken by Emirati photographer Alia Al Joker. Ms Al Dahmani is the mother of Ms Al Joker's best friend according to The National.
Standing infront a Sidr tree, Ms Al Dahmani appears traditional clothing. What made the image so incredible was the contrast of culture and heritage and the historical Hope Probe achievement by the UAE.
The Sidr tree has a significant meaning for locals as the late Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, known as UAE's Founding Father, and the late Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, first Ruler of Dubai, had a meeting there where they announced the start of the United Arab Emirates.
“I enjoy being photographed and loved being part of this," said Ms Al Dahmani, who is from Fujairah.
"Women our age should be out there and show our culture and our traditions."
The Dubaian Ms Al Joker says she is not a professional photographer "I just enjoy what I am doing and enjoy telling the stories of people," she said.
