Emirati actor and voice artist Majid Al Falasi passed away at the age of 33 on Sunday, May 7th. 

Falasi was the voice actor of the character Umm Saeed in the famous cartoon series "Freej." Umm Saeed is among the most popular characters of the show. She is known for her sarcasm, love of coffee, reciting old poetry, and for always having a traditional saying fit for the occasion.

The cause of death remains unspecified.

Al Falasi began his artistic journey in 2006 with Freej, and it has since become one of the most beloved animations in the region.

Freej gained popularity since its launch, inspiring theatre productions.

The animated show has even been dubbed and broadcasted in Japanese. The show was aired in January 2019 on Tokyo MX.

It was the first Arab-produced animation to be exported to Japan.
