Emirates ID Now Used As Proof For PCR and Vaccination

A new deal between Emirates airline and Dubai Health Authority allows UAE residents to present their Emirates ID instead of a physical negative test certificate or vaccine card. Emirates IDs can now be as a proof of vaccination or PCR.

A card reader will tell if the passenger received the vaccine or done a PCR. The ID should be inserted in the reader at check-in desks.
The new departures system is not mandatory but will be a faster option. The deal aims to speed up the airport in travel season.
“Our partnership with the Dubai Health Authority in managing passenger travel is unique and is a first step towards other initiatives that will be launched in the near future,” said Adel Al Redha, chief operating officer at Emirates airline.
“This is a testament to Dubai’s progressive approach in delivering innovative digital solutions across all aspects of services.”
Wider health records won’t be processed Emirates assured users. Information related to COVID-19 only will be checked.
Once check-in is completed, information relating medical records is discarded from the airline's system, officials said.
On the other hand, Dubai Airports Chief Executive said they will reopen Terminal 1 on June 24 at its main Dubai International hub and hire about 3,500 staff to keep up with the expected rise in traffic in the coming months.
