A dental clinic was slapped with an AED 1 million fine for suspected fraud and misuse of public funds, leading to an investigation into the conduct of the involved doctors. Simultaneously, three facilities—a laboratory, an occupational medicine center, and a medical center—were shuttered for breaching regulations for preventing infectious diseases.
Additionally, four homecare facilities were closed for various issues, including problems related to patient consent, treatment explanations, contract approvals, emergency supplies, and unauthorized staff practices. The DoH emphasized the importance of compliance with its policies and regulations for all healthcare facilities in the emirate to uphold the health and safety of the community.
In response to these violations, the Department stated its commitment to conducting regular inspections and supporting facilities found in violation to rectify deficiencies. The goal is to ensure that healthcare providers adhere to established standards, fostering a healthcare environment that prioritizes the well-being of all residents in Abu Dhabi.
