Sharjah is set to host a vibrant series of events to mark the UAE’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad, a national celebration of unity, resilience, and progress. The celebrations, running from November 21 to December 2, 2024, will reflect on the nation’s journey and achievements, showcasing the UAE's culture and heritage across the emirate’s key cultural and tourist sites.

The Sharjah Eid Al Etihad Celebrations Committee has planned a packed programme of events that will bring together all seven emirates in a celebration of solidarity and pride. Sharjah will embrace the occasion with numerous cultural performances, national marches, and community activities.

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Eid Al Etihad Celebrations Committee, expressed his gratitude to the UAE leadership for their continuous support in organizing the celebrations. He emphasized that Eid Al Etihad not only reaffirms national identity but also celebrates the UAE's standing as a global leader in progress, tolerance, and prosperity.

Highlights of Sharjah’s Eid Al Etihad Celebrations

The celebrations will be held across Sharjah, from the city’s heart to its scenic towns, offering a variety of events for all ages and interests.

Mleiha (Nov 21)

Mleiha’s Heritage Village will host a national march, folklore performances, a theatrical play, and community competitions. The event will also feature a Bedouin tent, a marketplace for local products, and a children’s play area, making it a perfect outing for families.

Al Dhaid City (Nov 27-Dec 1)

Al Dhaid will see a national march starting from the Grand Mosque, featuring participants from government agencies and schools. Following the march, folklore performances will take center stage, bringing the region’s rich cultural heritage to life.

Al Bataeh (Nov 28-30)

Al Bataeh will focus on heritage and national identity, with a traditional folk parade featuring government agencies, local residents, and schools. Horse and classic car parades will add to the excitement, while the “Etihad Bus” will tour local neighborhoods, distributing flags and National Day gifts. Children’s activities and traditional art displays will also be a highlight.

Kalba (Nov 23-25)

Kalba will host a range of celebratory events including a national march, the Kalba Operetta, and a classic car parade. Traditional games, sports activities, and a community-focused atmosphere will make this a lively and memorable occasion.

Khorfakkan (Nov 22-24)

Celebrations in Khorfakkan will take place at the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, featuring art workshops, children’s activities, and traditional performances. The event will begin with the national anthem, followed by poetry recitals, school performances, and a military band show. A Musical Folk Performance and competitions will conclude the festivities.

Dibba Al Hisn (Nov 23)

Dibba Al Hisn’s celebration will feature a public march, folklore performances, and a national operetta. The evening will include poetry recitals, military segments, and a lively continuation of the national operetta after Maghrib prayer.

Al Madam (Nov 22)

Al Madam’s celebrations will include heritage performances, children’s activities, and evening entertainment such as fireworks. The event will bring the community together to enjoy the national festivities.

Al Hamriyah (Nov 27-28)

Al Hamriyah Beach Park and Creek will host events on November 27 and 28. The celebrations will include a national anthem performance, a march along the beach walkway, folk songs, and interactive workshops. A dedicated session for senior citizens will be organized in collaboration with the Department of Social Services, offering an inclusive celebration for all ages.

Charity and Cultural Events

In addition to the cultural celebrations, Khorfakkan will also host a charity musical evening on December 1. Proceeds from this event will go to "The Big Heart Foundation," supporting vulnerable children and families around the world. The amphitheatre will also feature family business events, a youth council discussion, robotics workshops, and a cultural platform for various age groups, making it a well-rounded community celebration.
