Eid al Adha 2023 in the UAE: When & How to Celebrate
Eid al-Adha is celebrated by Muslims all over the world. It's the largest holiday of the year, and it's natural to expect a long list of events and activities around the region. The UAE is no exception, in fact it has some of the biggest events in store.

Here's how and when to celebrate in the UAE...
When:
The first day of Eid al-Adha in the UAE will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28th.
Arafat day will fall on Tuesday, June 27th, according to the Committee for Sighting the Crescent Moon of Dhul Hijjah 1444 AH.
Eid al-Adha as a public holiday in the UAE:
Eid Adha is celebrated for three straight days in the UAE, and by taking into account Arafat Day, which is also considered a public holiday, UAE residents are in store for a long stretch of a holiday.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced a paid public holiday for the private sector from June 27th to June 30th June on the occasion of Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha.
Eid al-Adha as a private holiday in the UAE:
The UAE's MoHRE has also announced that the Eid al-Adha break for the private sector is to start from Tuesday, June 27th, to Friday, June 30th.
For those who have Saturdays and Sundays as their weekends, this means that they will resume their work on Monday, July 3rd.
Eid al-Adha’s prayer timings in the UAE:
Muslims in the UAE are expected to gather at mosques early in the morning to pray together for Eid al-Adha.
In general, the prayer is led in two rak'ahs (units of prayer) by an Imam or another person who is qualified to do so. The congregation and the Imam chant "Allahu Akbar" seven times to begin the prayer, which is preceded by the recital of Takbeerat (Allah is greatest).
After prayer, there is a speech, or khutbah, which typically emphasises on the value and significance of Eid al-Adha.

Where can you watch the Eid Al Adha fireworks in the UAE?
Dubai Parks and Resorts
Riverland Dubai will host magnificent firework shows from June 27th until July 1st. The fireworks will illuminate the sky at 9 pm and visitors can watch the show for free.
Dubai Festival City Mall
Visitors at the mall will get a chance to witness beautiful fireworks sparkle in the sky on the second night of Eid. Visitors will also get a chance to watch the IMAGINE show, which includes a colorful and immersive laser, light, and water display.
Visitors can watch the fireworks show for free.
Yas Bay Abu Dhabi
Yas Island will host a fantastic fireworks show for all three days of Eid on June 28th, 29th, and 30th, every day at 9 pm.
Hudayriyat Island
The popular entertainment destination will light up with fireworks on June 29th at 9 pm.
Al Dhafra
A fireworks show will light up the beautiful desert sky on June 28th at 9 pm.

The acclaimed Arabic singers Hussain Al Jassmi and Kadim Al Sahir will be performing live at the Coca-Cola Arena on Saturday, July 1st, the fourth day of Eid al-Adha.
