Dubai International Airport passengers can go through passport control in a matter of seconds using the new biometric system that has been launched featuring a new contactless process without needing a passport or boarding pass.
This system applies to all expatriates, Emiratis, and visitors whose data has been registered with GDRFA since 2019.
All biometric information has been stored on the GDRFA system for future travels. You can pass through by simply looking at the green light, with no need to scan a document.
Remember to remove anything covering your face – such as masks, glasses and hats – and keep your passport and boarding pass ready if needed.
Currently, there are 122 smart gates and more than 12 million passengers will use smart gates in 2022.
