Dubai, UAE - In a significant move by the Dubai Land Department, the bustling Sheikh Zayed Road neighbourhood undergoes a transformative renaming, taking inspiration from the iconic Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower.
The Sheikh Zayed Road neighbourhood, home to diverse structures including residential buildings, offices, hotel apartments, and rooms, enjoys popularity among investors, renters, and tourists. Its strategic location, nestled near prominent landmarks and key areas like Downtown, Business Bay, JLT, and Dubai Marina, contributes to its appeal.
This renaming initiative encompasses 28 areas, marking a notable shift in the city's landscape. Among the affected districts, Motor City transforms into Al Hebiah First, Ranches adopts the name Wadi Al Asafa 6, Sports City becomes Al Hebiah Fourth, and Al Quoz 2 evolves into Ghadeer Al Tair.
The comprehensive list of these revamped areas, complete with their updated area codes, is poised to reshape the geographical identity of these locales.
While the precise reasons and timeline for these changes remain undisclosed, the Dubai Land Department is expected to provide insights into this transformative decision.
This initiative aligns with Dubai's recent roadmap for naming roads, witnessed initially in the Al Khawaneej 2 area. The inaugural phase witnessed streets named after local trees and flowers, a trend that may continue shaping the nomenclature of the city's evolving landscape.
