The initiative, part of the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Quick Traffic Improvements Plan 2024, involved signal installations to streamline traffic flow and facilitate left turns from Al Majasimi Street onto Al Wasl Road.
Additionally, a 200-meter segment of Al Majasimi Street underwent widening from one to two lanes in each direction, doubling its capacity from 1,200 to 2,400 vehicles per hour.
This upgrade aims to alleviate congestion at the intersection and enhance overall traffic efficiency. The completion of these enhancements aligns with RTA's commitment to prompt traffic improvements, benefiting commuters and reducing travel time from Umm Suqeim 3 northward to Al Wasl Road from three minutes to just 30 seconds.
