A day after easing the restrictions on hospitality sector in Dubai, officials clarified that some nightclubs in Dubai can now open to vaccinated guests.
A Dubai Media Office spokesperson confirmed to The National that patrons can sit or order a drink at the bar but there will be no dancing yet.
Opening the dance floor is subject to the trial’s outcome, however, only nightclubs that acquired a bar or pub trade licence can open.
Venues and event approvals should be submitted to Dubai Tourism for acceptance.
Each venue will require different safety criteria according to its size and shape.
All staff and visitors must have had the Covid-19 vaccine and it appears likely that security staff will be required to check the government's Al Hosn tracing app, which was used to screen fans at the President's Cup in Al Ain on Sunday.
