The official dates for Eid al-Adha holidays in Dubai have been confirmed, including the school break. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority of Dubai announced that all private schools, universities, and nurseries will be closed from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18. Classes will resume on Wednesday, June 19.
The announcement follows the confirmation of Eid al-Adha dates for the UAE's private and public sectors, revealing a four-day holiday this year.
While it is known in advance that four days are allocated for Eid al-Adha, the specific dates are only confirmed closer to the event due to the Islamic Hijri calendar, which is based on the lunar cycle.
Eid al-Adha, a time of reflection and community for Muslims, offers families a chance to come together and celebrate. The start of the Islamic month of Dhu Al Hijjah determines the Eid Al Adha break, with Islamic months varying between 29 and 30 days based on moon visibility.
