In a powerful response to the challenges facing Lebanon, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has launched a new initiative to ensure the continuity of education for Lebanese children affected by ongoing crises. This initiative aligns with the campaign initiated by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide vital support to the Lebanese people.

What is the Lebanon Education Continuity Project?

The Lebanon Education Continuity Project (2024-2025) aims to provide essential educational support to 40,000 students impacted by current events. Operated under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and facilitated through the Digital School, this project will leverage digital platforms to ensure that learning continues despite disruptions.

This initiative reflects the UAE's broader humanitarian response, which includes emergency aid, food, and healthcare for those in need. By focusing on education, the UAE is emphasizing its commitment to fostering community recovery and sustainable development.

Digital Solutions for Education

The project is designed to use integrated digital platforms to deliver educational programs tailored to the Lebanese curriculum. It will also provide essential tools and training for teachers, ensuring they can effectively engage with their students. As Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of MBRGI, stated, this initiative is crucial for Lebanese students' futures and underscores the leadership's belief in education as a fundamental component of community advancement.

The Digital School will collaborate with various partners and authorities to reach children whose education has been disrupted by a lack of resources and adequate infrastructure. Importantly, the initiative will offer learning opportunities in displacement centers across Lebanon, utilizing smart solutions that allow students to access content without needing an internet connection.

Ongoing Humanitarian Support

In addition to educational initiatives, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has also directed the provision of emergency food aid through MBRGI, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme. This effort aims to assist 250,000 people in Lebanon, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to humanitarian support.

The UAE Stands with Lebanon campaign, which began in early October 2024, has sparked widespread community engagement. Participants from diverse backgrounds, including Sheikhs, Ministers, and business leaders, have contributed to relief efforts, ensuring essential medical supplies, food, and resources reach those in need.

Investing in the Future

MBRGI's commitment to education is evident in its many programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life through learning. The organization has launched numerous initiatives to combat illiteracy, build educational facilities, and provide vocational training in developing countries.

By investing in education and spreading knowledge, MBRGI recognizes the critical role education plays in advancing societies. The organization is also focused on empowering Arab youth through programs that promote reading and knowledge acquisition, preparing them to face future challenges with confidence.

A Bright Future for Lebanese Students Through Education

The Lebanon Education Continuity Project represents a significant step forward in supporting the educational needs of children affected by ongoing challenges in Lebanon. With the backing of the UAE's leadership and the innovative use of digital platforms, this initiative not only aims to provide immediate educational support but also lays the groundwork for a brighter future for Lebanese students. The UAE’s commitment to investing in education showcases a powerful belief in the potential of human capital as the foundation for sustainable development and community resilience.
