This initiative aims to transform the area that hosted Expo 2020 and COP28 into a vibrant community that can accommodate around 75,000 residents and business professionals.
Key Features of the Plan
Spanning 3.5 square kilometers across five districts, Expo City Dubai is set to house over 35,000 residents and 40,000 professionals. The new plan also includes the global headquarters for DP World and a state-of-the-art international exhibition center valued at AED 10 billion.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that Expo City Dubai represents a new chapter in Dubai’s ongoing development. “This city aims to create the future,” he said, highlighting its role as a hub for innovators, educators, and entrepreneurs. He noted that the city will foster a supportive community for residents and visitors alike.
Strategic Importance
Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed praised Expo City as a model for future urban developments, emphasizing its potential to enhance sustainability and quality of life. The area’s strategic location near Al Maktoum Airport and Jebel Ali Port makes it an attractive destination for businesses looking to invest in Dubai’s economy.
Urban Layout and Amenities
The new plan features a well-organized grid layout, complete with a smart transportation system and plenty of green spaces. Expo Hills will offer a tranquil residential area, while Expo Fields will focus on healthy living, including schools and sports facilities. Expo Business will cater to innovative enterprises, and the urban-dense Expo Downtown will showcase iconic landmarks like the Al Wasl dome and Terra Gardens.
