Guidelines for Naming
If you’re thinking of naming a street after yourself or a loved one, well, proposed names must only be those that reflect Dubai's identity and encompass its history, heritage, values, and cultural diversity. The initiative, overseen by the Dubai Road Naming Committee, aims to foster community engagement but is still bound by certain standards.
Diverse Naming Categores
According to the Dubai Media Office, suggested names can range from Arabic and Islamic motifs to art, culture, and poetic references. They may also draw inspiration from local flora, fauna, environmental sustainability, marine life, and historical landmarks.
