Dubai residents can now use video conferencing services to complete their visa applications in case visa officers discover a document is missing or unclear, or need additional information from applicants.
The new service is offered by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) to save time and make the process easier for customers.
The applicants will be able to upload the missing documents via a chat box during the online meeting, and the visa officer will attach them to complete the transaction.
The service can be used for issuing and renewing all kinds of visas; residency, golden and green visas, as well as student and visit visas, and it will be available seven days a week between 8am and 6pm.
All people will benefit from the service, whether living in the UAE or abroad.
Mohammed Al Marri, director general of GDRFA, noted at a media conference on Wednesday that Amer call center will remain for inquiries before applying for the visa, while the new service will be for people who have already submitted an application.
