Dubai is making sure families have a stress-free beach experience during the upcoming long weekend by reserving four of its most popular public beaches exclusively for families. If you're planning a beach day with the kids, here's everything you need to know!

Which Beaches Are Reserved?

The beaches included in this initiative are some of Dubai’s busiest and most iconic:

  • Jumeirah Beach 2
  • Jumeirah Beach 3
  • Umm Suqeim 1
  • Umm Suqeim 2

These beaches will be reserved for families from UAE Commemoration Day, Saturday, November 30, through UAE National Day, Tuesday, December 3.

Why the Reservation?

With more people heading to the beach during public holidays, Dubai Municipality is stepping in to help manage the crowds. By limiting the number of visitors, they aim to reduce overcrowding and create a safer environment for families, especially those with young children.

This move is part of a broader effort to make the beaches more enjoyable for everyone. To ensure a smooth experience, Dubai Municipality has also deployed a dedicated safety and rescue team of 135 personnel, along with a 60-member supervisory team overseeing beach operations throughout the long weekend.

What Does This Mean for Beachgoers?

For families, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy Dubai's stunning beaches without the worry of overcrowding. Whether you're relaxing by the water or letting the kids run free, the reserved beaches offer a safer, more relaxed atmosphere during the holiday.

However, don’t worry if you’re not visiting with family—there are still plenty of fantastic beach clubs across Dubai that remain open during the long weekend. So, whether you’re looking for family fun or a day out with friends, Dubai’s coastlines have something for everyone.

A Word from Dubai Municipality

Eng. Ibrahim Mohammad Juma, Director of Public Beaches and Waterways at Dubai Municipality, shared that this initiative is designed to give families the chance to enjoy the beaches in a more controlled and safe environment.

"By dedicating these beaches to families during the Union Day holiday, we aim to regulate visitor numbers and ensure families can fully enjoy one of Dubai’s best tourist destinations," he said.
