Dubai Ranks First Regionally, 14th Globally in Innovative Cities Index

Dubai has ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) cities and 14th in the world in the Innovative Cities Index for 2023, according to the 2thinknow data innovation agency.

Dubai jumped 15 places in its global ranking on the index, as it was ranked 29 globally in the previous version of the index issued in 2021.

The city's balance on the 2023 index reached 52 out of 60 points, a difference of only 8 points from Tokyo, which topped the index.
Dubai equaled the balance with four other cities, namely Berlin, Chicago, Stockholm, and Toronto which ranked 11th, 12th, 13th, and 15th, respectively.

The index monitors the levels of innovation in 500 cities, and gives them scores based on a set of criteria such as the status of the city as a well-known brand in the world, the level of prevalence of smart devices among the city's residents, and the spread of the Internet in the city.
