In a robust effort to ensure road safety, Dubai's Naif Police Station has confiscated a staggering 3,779 bicycles and e-scooters during the first eight months of this year. This initiative targets reckless riders, with the haul including 2,286 bicycles, 771 electric bikes, and 722 scooters.

Authorities emphasize that operating these vehicles outside designated areas poses significant risks, potentially confusing other drivers. To combat this, Dubai Police are ramping up awareness campaigns to educate the public on safe riding practices.

Brigadier Omar Musa Ashour, Acting Director of Naif Police Station, highlighted essential safety measures for riders. "It's critical to stick to designated lanes, avoid jogging paths, and never carry passengers or items that could compromise balance," he stated.

Riders are reminded to adhere to licensing requirements, ride in the direction of traffic, and dismount at pedestrian crossings. Maintaining a safe distance from vehicles and pedestrians is equally important.

Additionally, the use of helmets and reflective jackets is strongly encouraged, along with avoiding rides during nighttime or adverse weather conditions. With these steps, Dubai aims to create a safer environment for all road users.
