Dubai Police Reveal Self-Driving Patrol Cars at Gitex Global 2023

Dubai Police have announced plans to launch fully electric, self-driving patrol vehicles in Dubai's residential areas.
The announcement was made at Gitex Global 2023, which is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Center.
The self-driving patrol car will be able to reach speeds up to 7kph.
The car is specifically designed to patrol residential areas and the vehicle will use artificial intelligence to monitor criminal activity.
The AI system of the vehicle will have a face-recognition feature and it will also registration feature for car license plates to track suspicious persons.
The autonomous car will also have a 360-degree camera to enable officers to gather intelligence, which will send real-time messages directly to the control center at Dubai Police's General Operations Department.
Another cool feature of the vehicle is an on-board drone, which will access areas where the vehicle cannot reach.
The drone will also maintain direct wireless communication with the patrol after it is launched.
Dubai Police have not yet revealed when the vehicles will start operating in the emirate.
