The police have warned the public to stay away from areas prone to flood.

Dubai Police issued a public safety alert message on Wednesday evening, May 1 because of the weather forecast of heavy rainfall. 

The message stated, "Avoid beaches, refrain from sailing, stay clear of valleys and areas prone to flash floods, exercise caution, drive with care and heed the advice of the authorities."

The message was issued after it was forecasted that it would rain on Wednesday night and also on Thursday, May 2.

All private schools in Dubai and Sharjah announced remote learning on Thursday and Friday. 

All government schools across the UAE will switch to remote learning on Thursday and Friday. 

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority also called for remote work on both days.

Government employees will have to switch to remote work on Thursday, except for employees whose jobs require their physical presence at work.
