Dubai Police Confirms Black Jaguar Is a Domestic Cat

The search for the exotic animal which seemed like a black jaguar in Springs 3 area in Dubai started on Tuesday after a video went viral on social media. Social media can be quite deceiving, and this is why. Dubai Police on Thursday confirmed the animal spotted in the Springs area was a domestic cat and not a wild animal.
Dubai's Media Office said wildlife experts concluded there was no evidence there was a jaguar on the loose in the neighbourhood.

Officers reassured the public and community residents that the viral video of the animal was carefully analysed and experts determined that it was a domestic cat.
However, authorities advised members of The Springs community to exercise all necessary caution. Dubai Police said bringing out any kind of wild animal into a public environment is strictly prohibited under the emirate’s laws,

The force said it has taken all measures to ensure the safety of residents and urged the public to exercise caution when sharing information on social media.
