Dubai Police have successfully apprehended a Brazilian visitor wanted by INTERPOL for fraud-related activities, as announced on Saturday.
William Pereira Rugato, 34, was detained upon his arrival in the UAE from a European destination. He is accused of manipulating football match outcomes to facilitate illegal gains through bets on international sports betting platforms.

Colonel Tariq Sultan Hilal Al Suwaidi, Director of the Wanted Persons Department at Dubai Police’s General Department of Criminal Investigation, highlighted that the arrest underscores the force’s dedication to international cooperation in tackling transnational organized crime.
"This arrest demonstrates Dubai Police’s proactive commitment to collaborating with global law enforcement agencies to ensure justice and combat crime," said Al Suwaidi.
