Dubai Police have cracked down on a gang of four Ethiopian nationals behind a daring Dh3-million heist in the Naif area.

The thieves targeted a company office, broke into its safe, and even swiped the security camera drive in an attempt to erase evidence.

The crime unfolded over a weekend in February when masked suspects forced their way into the office at around 4 AM. Their meticulous plan hit a snag when an Asian employee discovered the mess on Monday morning and immediately alerted authorities.

Dubai Police’s elite Criminal Investigation Department (CID) wasted no time. A specialized task force, including forensic experts and officers from Naif Police Station, launched a full-scale investigation. With advanced surveillance tracking and forensic analysis, they traced the suspects to a hideout in the emirate.

A swift raid led to the arrest of all four gang members, who later confessed to the crime. While police recovered part of the stolen cash, the suspects had already funneled a portion of the money back to their home country through illegal transfer channels.

Authorities have since urged businesses to strengthen their security measures and report any suspicious activity immediately. Dubai Police reaffirmed their commitment to keeping the city safe and ensuring criminals have nowhere to hide.
