Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a significant upgrade to its metro fleet, refurbishing 79 trains as part of its regular maintenance program. This overhaul is expected to enhance the overall service quality and reliability of the Dubai Metro.
Boosting Train Availability and Punctuality
The refurbished trains have covered over 1.5 million kilometers since the metro’s inception. Thanks to these upgrades, RTA has achieved an impressive 99.7% availability and punctuality rate. The continuous improvements contribute to a more reliable and efficient service for commuters.
Rail Grinding for Smoother Rides
As part of the comprehensive maintenance efforts, RTA also performed rail grinding along the Red and Green Lines, covering 189 kilometers of track. This process helps remove surface defects and restore the tracks to their original condition, promoting smoother and safer journeys for passengers.
