Starting March 1, the minimum amount required to top up Nol cards via ticket vending machines at Dubai Metro stations will increase from Dh5 to Dh20, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced.

New Minimum Recharge Amounts

The minimum top-up amount depends on where you reload your Nol card. While vending machines will now require a Dh20 minimum, topping up at a Metro station ticket office will require a minimum of Dh50.

Multiple Ways to Recharge Nol Cards

Commuters have five different ways to add credit to their Nol cards, making it easier to pay for public transport across Dubai. The cards are widely used for Metro, buses, trams, and even some non-transport services.

More Uses for Nol Cards

Beyond public transport, Nol cards can also be used for payments at select supermarkets, restaurants, and certain RTA services. In December, the RTA expanded Nol card usability, allowing residents to pay for accredited e-scooters, aligning with Dubai’s goal of promoting a cashless economy.
