Commencing on March 1, Dubai Metro and Tram passengers are barred from bringing e-scooters on board, as declared by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The ban aims to safeguard commuters' safety, prompted by recent disruptions on the Red Line caused by an e-scooter emitting smoke.
The RTA emphasized the decision's necessity to protect both individuals and public well-being. In a tweet, the RTA stated, "To ensure safety, electric scooters are forbidden on trains, effective Friday, March 1, 2024."
